Ahmet Hikmet Müftüoğlu's one of the most important works, Çağlayanlar, is a collection of short stories. The author has drawn on Turkish epics and history in his stories in this work, describing events that took place during the wars in Trablus, the Balkans, and World War I. As a result, these stories are entirely written with a sense of national pride.
